Student Exchanges Cancelled for AY 2020

INBOUND AND OUTBOUND NON-DEGREE SEEKING EXCHANGES CANCELLED FOR AY 2020
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Toho University is cancelling all inbound and outbound student programs through March 2021. This applies to programs planned through exchange agreements with Toho University Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Health Sciences. This decision has been arrived upon after considering several factors, including probable limitations on on-campus activities and the ongoing impact of this pandemic on students and staff worldwide. Moreover, the Japanese government has imposed a ban on the entry of people from more than 100 countries and regions to date. This restriction is likely to be gradually relaxed, but we expect visa processing delays for some time, even after it is lifted.

We understand that this is disappointing news for students who were looking forward to broadening their global perspectives through our exchange programs this year, but our priority is the safety and health of students and staff, and this is a purposeful action to limit the further spread of the virus.

We hope to resume both inbound and outbound programs in April 2021. Students and partner institutions will be notified of our plans for the next academic year as early as winter 2020.

Sincerely,

Kazuhiro Tateda
