教養科セミナーのお知らせ（数学教室）
このたび、教養科数学教室は下記の要領でセミナーを行う運びとなりました。
講演者はメキシコのサン・ルイス・ポトシ自治大学のVallejo教授で、微分幾何と数理物理をご専門とし、またコンピュータソフトウェアの研究・教育への活用にも造詣の深い方です。
今回のセミナーでは、フリーの数式処理ソフトウェアMaximaの教育への活用について、例を挙げながら非専門家にもわかりやすくお話いただくことになっています。

講演題目 Maxima CAS, a perfect companion in your classroom
講演概要: I will show the capabilities of the computer algebra system Maxima, both as a tool for research and for teaching. I will do it by way of examples (think of a 'Maxima Tour'), so no theory or technical dissertations will take place. One of the nice things about Maxima is the existence of an Android port, called MaximaOnAndroid (MoA) and developed by Yasuaki Honda in Chiba (Japan). This fact opens up the doors of a fantastic change in the way our teaching is done, and I will comment how MoA can be used to teach university courses (at any level) using a smartphone.
