Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences

　The Faculty has been hosting the “Life Science Symposium” since 1985 and has attracted world-renowned scientists. Rooted in and open to the neighboring communities, the Faculty invites the general public both to Extension Lectures, which promote greater understanding of issues related to diseases and medications, and to other faculty activities such as the opening of the Medicinal Herb Sample Garden, held in early summer every year. These activities enjoy significant participation from the local community and neighboring prefectures.
　In 2000, the Postgraduate Extension Course was started in close cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine and affiliated hospitals in order to give pharmacists an opportunity for continuing education, an activity we consider to be just as important as one’s initial professional education.
